A Quick and Simple Guide on How Water Heaters Work

Tankless water heater in the bathroom

Did you know that the heating and cooling industry is expected to reach a value of $1,400 billion within the next five years?

Aside from climate control, another necessity is having heated water. From washing dishes thoroughly to taking an enjoyable shower, it can be hard to imagine life without the mechanics of a water heater. Despite this, most people aren’t aware of how this technology works, which can spell disaster if it ever breaks down.

Are you wondering what the device involves? Keep reading to learn all about how water heaters work with this quick and simple guide.

What Is a Water Heater?

When it comes to the science of water heaters, it’s important to distinguish between two main types of heaters. A home can either be equipped with a gas heater or an electric one.

In either case, most people have the type of water heater that stores hot water in a container. That way, you won’t have to wait a long time for the water to actually heat up. Instead, the hot water should come out of the faucet within a matter of seconds, give or take.

Gas Water Heater

Are you asking yourself, “How do water heaters work?” With a gas water heater, your device will bring water through a tube and increase its temperature by using the heat of burning gas. The gas itself is a health hazard but the fumes are pushed out through a tube that exits the home so you only have to worry if there’s a leak or another type of issue.

Of course, you can set the temperature so that it’s not too hot or too lukewarm. As you use up the hot water, more is replaced but using too much water in too short a time can cause some delays.

Electric Water Heater

While there are some different water heater parts in an electric water heater, the general concept is the same other than the fact that the gas is replaced with electricity. This allows you to stop worrying about any toxic air leaks, for instance. That doesn’t mean an electric water heater can’t have its own mechanical issues.

The good news is that you can often fix it yourself or call a professional to handle it on your behalf. Water heater parts are obtainable from reputable vendors at reasonable prices.

Now You Know How Water Heaters Work

Now that you’ve learned all about how water heaters work, you can make sure you’ve never left out in the cold when you’re trying to relax after work with a hot shower. Your friendly members will be thankful when you act fast to fix any issues.

Since a water heater is only one of many things in a household that can break down, we’ve got you covered with plenty more articles like this one. Feel free to browse around while you’re here and be sure to come back every so often to see the new content we’ve posted.

What Maintenance Services Do Industrial Contractors Provide?

copyspace worker with very close up

Did you know that a commercial building can last for half a century or longer?

The exact lifespan of a building can be greatly affected by how well you maintain it. Most buildings require the handiwork of one or more experts over a consistent period of time. The last thing you’d want to do is let the building’s inner and outer structure deteriorate.

Are you wondering what you can do to stop it? Keep reading to learn all about what maintenance services industrial contractors can offer you.

Prevention

When it comes to industrial electrical contractors and other types, you can expect them to engage in various kinds of preventative maintenance.

Prevention is the number one strategy for saving money because it stops problems from happening in the first place. If anything does occur, then you can expect it to be much more minor than it otherwise would have been.

From replacing spare parts before they break to checking up on the state of equipment, there are many boxes to check, but it sure beats paying a vast sum of money after a disaster has occurred.

Correction

Even the best industrial services contractors can’t prevent everything. At some point, there will be a malfunction with equipment or a defect in the structure. In this situation, corrective maintenance is needed.

For instance, the sooner Utilityservice.net can handle the situation, the better. If you try to sweep an issue under the rug, there’s a high chance that it’ll get worse. Not only will this result in a higher bill, but it could put people’s lives in danger.

It’s always better to pay a small amount now than to be hit with a huge financial burden later. You could also face legal issues if you go against various regulations.

Prediction

Whether you’re working with industrial power washing contractors or another type of contractor, they should also offer you predictive maintenance. This is similar to preventative maintenance but it goes further. Instead of maintaining what’s there, it could also involve replacing outdated parts with cutting-edge parts.

With newer technology, for instance, your assets will perform at a higher level of function for a longer period of time. This kind of maintenance requires in-depth knowledge that can sometimes be hard to come by. That’s why you should do as much research into various contractors before you make your final decision.

Are You Ready to Hire Industrial Contractors?

Now that you’ve learned all about what maintenance services industrial contractors can provide, you’ll know what to expect when you sign a contract with them. Be sure to do some in-depth research so you won’t get stuck with an unreliable contractor.

After you’ve gotten your fill of industrial contractor information, you should feel free to look around our site for the latest scoops on many other topics. From marketing and technology to vaping and loans, you can stay up to date if you visit back on a regular basis.

Should You Purchase An Underfloor Heating System?

Underfloor heating system under wooden floor. 3D rendered illustration.

It’s the middle of winter and you’re dreading getting out of bed to walk across the tile floors in your bathroom or the cold laminate in the kitchen. No matter how much you crank the heat, your home just doesn’t seem to stay warm.

That’s where an underfloor heating system comes into play. With a heated floor, your feet will stay toasty and your home will radiate warmth whenever you need it to.

But what is an underfloor heating system, and why should you invest in one?

Keep reading to find out.

What Is an Underfloor Heating System?

An underfloor heating system (UFH) warms up your room through heating systems under your flooring, as opposed to something like a radiator. The heat starts in the floor and rises, distributing the warmth evenly and at a fast rate.

There are two main types of underfloor heating systems: hydronic and electric.

Hydronic

A hydronic underfloor heating system pumps heated water through pipes under the floor. It’s often a cost-efficient option if you have cold floors throughout the year, but it has a few negatives.

Hydronic underfloor heating systems require your floor to be torn up in order to install them, so it’s best to use them if you’re already doing construction on your home. They also require maintenance every so often to keep them in good shape.

Electric

An electric underfloor heating system heats your room using electric wires under the floors. It requires a faster and simpler installation, and it’s also efficient at heating up a room quickly. Electric underfloor heating systems don’t require any maintenance.

What Are the Benefits of a Heated Floor?

When thinking about underfloor heating systems and their advantages, one of the first benefits that come to mind is their aesthetic design.

Since the system is under your flooring, you don’t have to deal with bulky heating systems taking up valuable space in your room. Plus, underfloor heating systems are silent and won’t pose any risks to children or pets (unlike radiators).

They’re also more energy-efficient. It takes a radiator much longer to heat up a room than an underfloor heating system. You could end up saving 15% on your heating bills just by switching to heated floors.

Another great thing about underfloor heating systems is that they work on almost all types of flooring. Whether you have wood, stone, tile, or even carpet, an underfloor heating system will heat your room well.

Heat Your Rooms With an Underfloor Heating System

Now that you know how an underfloor heating system works, as well as how it can benefit your home, you’re ready to reap its benefits. Turn your bathroom, kitchen, garage, basement, or sunroom into a warm and toasty space with heated flooring.

Best ideas for online business in Hungary

With technological advancement, businesses have been shifting from physical stores to online. With a presence online, a business is not bound by physical boundaries, it can reach buyers and sellers remotely thereby enjoying a global presence and minimizing operation costs. It also means that it can operate any time of the day or night without being restricted, as opposed to physical stores which have to be opened at specific times of the day. Online businesses present great opportunities that entrepreneurs can utilize to maximize their gains. However, to succeed one must identify the best ideas for online business.

man standing in front of people sitting beside table with laptop computers

While talking about the best ideas for an online business can mean different things to varied parties, there is a general agreement that its viability should be gauged by the potential to get people who will buy into your idea. A good idea should generate a business that will provide a solution to people’s problems. Customers will frequent your online business if it promises to solve their problems, meet their needs, and provide value for their money. Best ideas for an online business are not measured by what we feel as entrepreneurs, but by their ability to solve problems. You may like an idea and think it will generate you revenue, only to discover that it does not translate to money since the targeted audience did not buy into your idea.

Viability of an idea

Ask any business coach and he or she will tell you that starting an online business, just like wagering for your favorite team to win involves taking a risk. However, one should not take uncalculated risks, you need to look at what can work and deliver the desired results.

Timing in the execution of your idea

While accessing the potential of people buying into your online business idea is important, it is not the endpoint. You also need to ask yourself other questions as you seek to decide on what business to start. One of the crucial questions touches on the timing, is it the right time to start the business? The idea may be good and the product you are looking to sell online may attract potential buyers but is the timing right? The current pandemic has taught us several lessons, especially regarding supply chain management.

Even up to now when the worst public health crisis in the recent past is subsiding, the world is still experiencing the shocks as prices for essential commodities escalate due to supply chain problems. Your product may be in high demand in particular areas but the cost of shipping may lead to high operation costs. In such a case, do you start the business and risk losses or do you wait until the situation gets better? This is a crucial question as it will affect your business and its future success. A course in business management masters online may teach you many things but the timing on when to execute the idea may not be one of them. It will largely depend on how you weigh the situation.

men's gray crew-neck t-shirt

You may have found the best online business ideas in Hungary but the timing is not right. Trust your guts, postpone the launch of the idea, allow the business environment to improve, and dive into your venture when the storm is over. You do not want to be part of the failed business statistics, sometimes a little patience may be all that you need to succeed in your online business venture.

Online business ideas 2022

It will not be fair to present these facts and then fail to give potential entrepreneurs in Hungary online business ideas 2022, the kind of ventures they can start and succeed in. Our list is based on research that has been conducted in the recent past where the success rate of different online businesses in Hungary has been compared. The list may not be exhaustive; however, it has captured most of the businesses that have great potential, more so as we recover from the worst public health crisis. The list includes:

  • Drop shipping more so for the fact that you can make money without heavy investment on products that you will be selling
  • Starting an SEO consulting business
  • Virtual training on most sought skills
  • Freelance web or app development
  • Freelance graphic designer
  • Freelance writer or content creator
  • Do-it-yourself craft maker and seller
  • Affiliate marketing
  • Social media influencer
  • Social media management
  • Niche marketer
  • Offer voice over services
  • Teach languages online
  • Creating online workshops
  • Online Forex, Crypto, and NFTs trading

Engaging in one or several of these activities as an online business may give you an edge as they are current, require relatively low capital to start, and potentially have a large market. Online business is the way to go if you are looking to reach a wider audience and maximize profits; however, its success largely depends on how you translate the idea into a product.

7 Benefits of Renting Out Your Home

Approximately one-third of Americans rent out their home.

When it comes to renting out your home, there are a lot of things to consider. You might be wondering if it’s the right choice for you and your family. In this blog post, we will discuss seven benefits of renting out your home that might make the decision a little easier.

Keep in mind that each situation is different, so be sure to speak with an accountant or real estate agent to see what would work best for you!

1. Renting Out Your Home Can Help With Cash Flow

Because you have attractive loan terms and have resided in the property for a few years, you should be able to generate some monthly cash flow because you’ve paid down your mortgage – at least partially.

A couple of extra hundred dollars each month could help with things like groceries, travel, or even a new car payment.

2. Renting Out Your Home May Qualify You For Tax Deductions

When you own and rent out a property, there are a number of expenses that you can deduct from your taxes. These may include mortgage interest, property taxes, insurance, repairs, and more.

Even if you aren’t making income on the property, these deductions can still apply. Selling a house also comes with capital gains tax, which is a hit you might not want to take on your tax returns right now.

Speak with your accountant to see if you qualify for any deductions.

3. Renting Out Your Home Could Help With Mortgage Repayments

If you’re renting out your home, the rental property income can be used to help make your mortgage payments each month. This is especially helpful if you’re in a situation where one breadwinner has lost their job or you have other financial obligations.

It’s particularly appealing if someone else is paying off the mortgage for you while you live elsewhere!

4. Renting Out Your Home Can Help You Learn How To Manage An Investment Property

If you’re thinking about purchasing an investment property in the future, renting out your home can give you a crash course in property management.

You’ll learn how to be a landlord and deal with the issues that can arise with that.

When you rent your home you can expect to deal with things like:

  • Rent collection
  • Lease agreements
  • Maintenance and repairs
  • Dealing with difficult tenants

While it can be a lot of work, it can also be a great way to learn about what being a landlord entails.

5. Renting Out Your Home Could Serve As A Security Blanket

In today’s economy, nothing is certain. If you’re worried about job security or the stock market, renting out your home could give you a little peace of mind.

While rental income isn’t guaranteed, it could help you stay afloat if you find yourself in a difficult financial situation.

Additionally, the home is also there should you need to move back in for any reason. New jobs, new relationships, and moves can unfortunately not always work out. Having something to go back to can make that transition easier.

6. Property Values are Increasing

The property market has steadily ticked upwards over the last several years and experts predict that it will continue to do so.

In fact, American property prices grew 17.1% YoY as of December of 2021.

This is good news if you’re thinking about renting out your home as an investment.

You can hold the property now and reap the benefits above. Then you have the flexibility to sell at a time that is most beneficial to you.

7. Renting Out Your Home Gives You Diversified Investments

If you’re relying solely on the stock market for your investments, you may want to consider renting out your home as a way to diversify.

Diversification is important because it helps spread out your risk. That way, if one investment takes a hit, you have others to fall back on.

What to Consider When Renting Out Your Home

We’ve discussed the benefits of renting your home out above. Before you decide to rent and make the commitment there are some crucial factors to consider.

Landlords need to be prepared to deal with problem tenants, maintenance issues, and the day-to-day management of their property.

You should also speak with your mortgage lender to see if renting out your home is allowed in your mortgage agreement. Some lenders have restrictions on this.

Additionally, check with your insurance company to see if your policy still covers the home if it’s being rented out.

You’ll also need to determine if you’re comfortable renting out your home and having strangers live there.

Weigh the pros and cons carefully before making a decision. Renting out your home can be a great way to generate some extra cash each month, but it’s not for everyone. Those that do rent though can earn great passive income and experience from it.

Do some research and speak with experts before renting out your home. It’s an important decision and one that shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Should You Rent Out Your Home?

The million-dollar question. We’ve discussed the benefits and your property options, but ultimately it’s up to you to decide if renting out your home is the right move for you.

If you’re on the fence, consider speaking with a financial advisor to see if renting out your home is the right choice for you. They can help you weigh the pros and cons and figure out what would work best for your situation.

What is the Average Lifespan of a Roof, and How to Extend It?

Asphalt Shingles Installation. Roofer Contractor Installing Asphalt Shingles on House Roofing Construction

Did you know that the average cost to replace a 1000 sq. ft. roof is between $3,400 and $9,000? And that’s for a relatively modest-sized roof. start throwing in a few extra square feet and gables, and you’re looking at a hefty bill.

So it’s no surprise that many of us are asking ourselves, what is the average lifespan of a roof? It’s good to know so that you can start budgeting for a replacement. Also, it can help you to see what you can do to extend its useful life.

Let’s take a closer look and see exactly how long we can expect our roofs to last.

What Is the Average Lifespan of a Roof?

The average lifespan of a roof depends on where it is built and what it is made of.

The exposed position of our roofs makes them very susceptible to damage. If you live in a very hot or humid part of the country, the sun can cause shingles to expand, weakening the integrity of the roof.

Storms can do a lot of damage, removing shingles and causing water ingress. Without regular roof care after storms, the lifespan of roofs can drop significantly.

Roofing Material Lifespan

The lifespan of a roof made from a hard-wearing material like slate is much greater than one made from rolls of asphalt. The average roof lifespan is:

  • Composite shingles – up to 40 years
  • Wood shingle – up to 30 years
  • Standing-seam metal – up to 50 years
  • Clay or cement shingles – up to 100 years
  • Slate – over 100 years

Remember, these are only averages. Find a contractor who installs high-quality roofs and does prompt repairs and you could extend this by some margin.

How to Extend the Lifespan of a Roof

To extend the lifespan of your roof, keep threats to it to a minimum. This means:

  • Trimming overhanging tree branches that could fall on it
  • Keeping gutters clean throughout the year
  • Keep your attic well ventilated and insulated
  • Clean your roof every year

If you don’t keep your roof clear of moss, mildew, and mold they can gradually eat away at the roofing material. Depending on the elevation, you may be able to clean this from the ground with a telescopic handled brush, dish soap, and water.

Annual Roof Inspection

Whether you suspect roof damage or not an annual roof inspection is essential for your peace of mind. The fall is a great time to do this before the harsh weather of winter.

The inspector will look for:

  • Signs of structural damage
  • Missing shingles, stains, rust, damage
  • Interior inspection – signs of leaks

You’ll get a detailed report explaining any remedial action that you need to take.

Maximize the Lifespan of Your Roof

The average lifespan of a roof is just that – an average.

With good roof maintenance, there’s no reason why your roof can’t be the exception to the rule! Keep it clean, remove threats, and schedule an annual inspection. This will help you avoid the expense of a replacement for as long as possible.

If you’ve enjoyed these home maintenance tips, we’ve got lots more for you! Head over to our Home & Garden section today!

Understanding the Latest Online Gambling Statistics in 2022

Lucky thirteen and casino gambling concept with a closeup on a section of the of roulette wheel with the ball in the winning number 13 black

Ever since the first legal casino in Europe opened in Venice, Italy, in 1638, the gambling industry has enjoyed continued growth. Although gambling statistics were not a regulation until more recently, it is apparent that all types of casinos have succeeded to record heights. Today, the gambling establishment has evolved to create a presence online.

Keep reading if you are curious about what these statistics mean for the best online casinos and others. Find out what the latest gambling statistics mean for the future of the gambling industry.

The Big Picture

It is estimated that 1.6 billion people engage in some gambling activity. So with 26% of the world’s population visiting a gambling establishment, it’s no wonder every graph for revenue continues to rise.

The gambling industry as a whole consists of two types of casinos. At the end of 2017, the online casino side reached $50 billion in revenue. The live casino gaming world was worth over $400 billion.

Yet, as the years went on, the online gambling industry grew at a staggering rate compared to physical casinos. Online casino revenue increased by nearly 40% in five years. Traditional gambling establishments grew by about 25% in that timeframe.

The Global Gambling Industry

In 2022, five countries will account for most of the gambling action worldwide. Macau has the largest per head revenue globally, with 38 casinos. China has not legalized gambling, so Macau has started to struggle to maintain revenue levels at physical casinos only.

No surprise that the United States is the most significant overall earner from gambling on various fronts. Nevada, of course, leads all regions of the country with revenue from casinos, sports betting, poker, and more.

The UK also makes significant revenues from casinos and sports betting. Yet, there are more mobile and social gaming sites than in the US. British interests operate some of the best online casinos in the world.

Australia and Canada are both innovators in online gaming technology. For decades, pokie machines have been a mainstay in Australia, and live casinos are destination spots for many tourists.

Canada’s IT excellence has helped advance some of the best online slots and casino offerings in the world. Software providers get helped by increasing regions that operate legal online gambling sites.

Online Casino Gambling Statistics

While online gambling statistics showed $50 billion of revenue in 2019, the number expects to double by 2026. More places globally, including the United States, are accepting the best online casinos to operate.

As the thirst for the online gambling establishment grows, more players like Plaza Royal Online Casino come on board. These sites have the technology to offer the best online slots games available anywhere.

Gambling Statistics In Future

The effects of the pandemic undoubtedly helped the online gambling phenomenon. Yet, even as live casinos open again, gambling statistics will continue to grow. More people are accessing the best online casinos from their mobile devices.

The online gambling industry earned $67 billion in 2020. The $100 billion mark should be reached long before projected. Come back soon to read more projections and insights here.

How to Reduce Your Monthly Debt Payments

Debt Management Plan on a table.

The average American household harbors over $150,000 of debt.

Debt is financially crushing and makes paying for necessities challenging. Some people lose their cars, homes, and other valuables because they cannot make their monthly debt payments.

If you’re finding difficulty managing debt, you’re not alone. Here are some steps you can take today to reduce your debt and start preparing your finances.

Create a Budget

Budgets show you where you’re spending your money. Without a budget, you are spending money without knowing where it’s going.

If you don’t already have a budget, create one to see how much debt you’re in and where your monthly payments are going. Knowing your income allows you to structure your budget in a way that allows you to pay your bills on time.

Financial Counselling

You might be wondering, what is debt counselling? Debt counselling is when you speak to a financial advisor and they walk you through your debts. They also work with your creditors to negotiate new payments that make it easier on your finances.

Debt counselling is helpful for people who need an extra pair of eyes on their finances. It also alleviates a lot of work on your behalf.

Consolidate Your Debt

Sometimes debt reduction needs to happen with consolidation. Debt consolidation means combining all or most of your debt so you have a smaller monthly payment instead of several large ones.

If you have a lot of debt, you likely have varying interest rates which makes your payments high. By consolidating your debt, you may reduce your interest to one rate and one payment, making it significantly less stressful. Make sure you shop around for the best rates before agreeing.

Don’t Take on More Credit

When you’re trying to get out of debt, limit your purchases to things you need only. Avoid making any large purchases or even small ones as you’re working on chipping away current debt.

Continuing to purchase groceries or other necessities on a credit card with a high balance only makes paying off that debt more challenging. Find a way to make important purchases without using a credit card.

Transfer Balances

Transferring your balances to another card with a lower interest rate may help reduce your monthly payments. Although, this may only work well if you have a good credit score and make your payments on time. In order to use another credit card to transfer your balance, the credit company needs to check your credit, which puts a hit on your credit report.

Be sure to shop around for cards with low-interest rates. Occasionally, companies run specials or incentives like 0% interest for new customers. If you clinch this rate, try to pay off the debt as soon as possible to save yourself money.

Reduce Your Monthly Debt Payments

By reducing your monthly debt payments, you can pay off debt and land in a more financially stable place. Getting out of debt is challenging, but the rewards are worth it.

Staying financially healthy is key to reducing financial stress. Learn more about keeping your finances in order on our Finance page.

Which NYC Airport Should You Fly in and Out Of?

With over eight million residents, it’s safe to say that New York City needs all three of its airports. But when flying to or from the Big Apple, it can be all too easy to pick an airport that doesn’t give you what you need.

Each NYC airport has its pros and cons. Unless you’re a seasoned flyer, it can be hard to spot them all at a glance.

Lucky for you, we’re here to help! Read on for the ultimate guide to Newark vs JFK vs LaGuardia – we’ll make sure you don’t get caught short at the airport again.

Airlines and Flights

Which airline are you flying with? This might be the most important factor in deciding which airport is the best fit for you.

JFK is a huge international airport and a hub for big-name airlines like Delta and American Airlines. Long-haul flights arrive and depart from all over the world, and as a result, the airport amenities are great. You’ll also find direct domestic flights to and from every major airport in the US.

Newark might not have JFK’s name recognition, but don’t be fooled! It’s a major hub airport for United Airlines and other Star Alliance carriers from around the world. It also has a surprising number of amenities, including an exclusive invite-only restaurant.

LaGuardia is the only NYC airport offering flights from Southwest Airlines. However, it’s smaller than the other two airports, so domestic flight options can be limited. Amenities at LaGuardia fall short of both Newark and JFK, too – though if your flight is shorter, it may not matter so much.

Distance to Downtown

You’ve just touched down in NYC, and you want to get where you’re going as fast as you can. But how long is it going to take to get there from the airport?

For direct distance via car, LaGuardia is the closest airport to downtown Manhattan – it’s only an 8.5-mile drive! But since it’s NYC, that drive can take you anywhere from 25 to 50 minutes.

JFK is about 18.5 miles from Manhattan by car. On a good day, that’s a 45-minute drive. On a bad day, it can take an hour and a half.

While Newark is further from Manhattan than JFK, the drive can be a tiny bit quicker. You should factor in 40 to 85 minutes if you’re planning to drive downtown from Newark.

Transportation Options

All three NYC airports are accessible via public transit. Whether they’re easily accessible is another matter!

LaGuardia doesn’t have a subway station, so you’ll need to make an inconvenient transfer onto an airport bus. Getting to JFK means transferring from the subway onto the AirTrain. While Newark’s subway connections aren’t great, you can always take the one-way Newark Airport Express shuttle bus – though it only goes to and from Manhattan.

If you drive, it can be a smart move to check your options for airport parking. As the airport itself has limited public transit connections, Newark airport parking options are especially worth your time. You’ll save yourself the hassle of public transit, and enjoy some great perks in the bargain.

The Best NYC Airport

The fact is that there’s no one ‘best’ NYC airport. Which airport works for you will depend on your needs – whether that’s the airline you’re flying with or your transportation preferences groundside. Do your research before you fly, and you’ll be fine whichever airport you choose!

5 Serious Early Warning Signs of Termites

Man prying sheetrock and wood damaged by termite infestation in house.

Did you know that termites are active year-round? While they like to swarm in the springtime, it’s important to check your house for evidence of them even in other seasons. Otherwise, they can cause serious damage and erode the structural integrity of your home, resulting in big repair bills.

Do you think you might have termites in your house? If so, don’t wait until it’s too late to get professional help. Instead, be proactive and learn about the top five early warning signs of termites that you need to watch for here.

1. Mud Tubes

One of the first and most obvious signs of termites is finding mud tubes in your home. Just like the name implies, these are little termite superhighways that these pesky pests build from soil, sand, wood, and other debris. Constructed to keep the colony safe from predators, they are a sure indication that you have termites.

2. Noises in the Walls

Termites communicate with each other by making clicking noises that are audible to humans. If you hear strange sounds coming from the inside of your walls, you might have an infestation. Termites eat wood, so you may also hear crunching noises as they devour parts of your walls, floors, or other areas of your home.

3. Wings

Are you finding little piles of insect wings around the house? If so, this could be from a recent termite swarm, or from flying ants. Both insects leave behind wings, though termite wings have identical sets while flying ants have a larger and smaller sets.

4. Wood and Paint Damage

Since termites eat wood, if you find damaged wood around your home it could be a sign that you have a colony in your home. They leave very distinctive maze patterns that will let you know of their presence. As they burrow and eat things, this can also cause paint damage so if you see this contact a professional pest control company to come to check it out.
