5 Things You Should Know about Blockchain in Healthcare

The technological revolution of this century has provided stale industries with an extraordinary amount of innovation. In healthcare, patients can reserve a doctor’s appointment or manage their prescriptions with the ease of a smartphone, but this easy access comes with a cost.

Like many highly secure industries that existed before the technological boom, the healthcare industry is struggling to keep up with advanced forms of cyber attacks.

This is extremely dangerous for both patients and professionals alike. Without proper cybersecurity, patients’ medical data can be stolen and sold on the black market, and practice can incur thousands of dollars in fines from HIPAA(Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) noncompliance penalties.

The healthcare industry is now making moves to incorporate blockchain into its cybersecurity.

Blockchain, most commonly associated with cryptocurrency, is a type of secure, public ledger that connects digital records, called blocks, to other blocks. These blocks are highly encrypted, time-stamped and continuous updated with data from transactions.

Here are 5 ways the industry can use blockchain technology to support their cybersecurity as well as their patients, operations, and personnel

Smart Contracts

A major benefit to blockchain technology is its use of smart contracts. A smart contract eliminates middlemen from negotiations by digitally facilitating, verifying, or enforcing the terms of a contract.

The smart contract works on an if-then premise. An example is a simple expiration date: once this date arrives, then the smart contract will alert all parties of the expiration and terminate the contract itself.

In healthcare, this means that health organizations and insurance providers can automate payment processes using an artificial third party.

Smart contracts are transparent to all parties, so patients could also use them to easily switch hospitals without needing to fill out forms for their prior hospital – the physicians would know just by viewing the contract.

Data Compilation

Pharma gathers data that are stored in silos from many different sources. This process of organization in time-consuming and inefficient for data analytics in healthcare.

Using blockchain could help healthcare companies with their large data analytics, especially when the data comes from several departments.

Patients use apps that gather medical data and transfer it to other devices and medical providers, which is not always kept safe.

When their information is not kept secure in one location, it becomes easier for their data to be given to the wrong people. If insurance providers get their hands on private medical information, the cost of health coverage can unjustly fluctuate.

Encryption is one of the most important factors for effective cybersecurity in healthcare, and with blockchain’s extensive data encryption, the safety and privacy of a patient’s information are guaranteed.

Patients can know where their data is being transferred to and who has a right to view it, making sure that their data is transferred to the appropriate recipients.

Clinical Trials

There is a lot of manual work needed to scout out appropriate patients for clinical trials. The amount of paperwork is enormous, and it’s very likely that perfectly suitable candidates get regularly overlooked.

With blockchain, researchers can easily search for the qualifications needed to acquire potential candidates without having to worry about receiving misinformation.

The clinical studies data can be kept private and organized using blockchain, which is necessary for the HIPAA compliances that Pharma companies must adhere to.

Since all records entered in blockchain have to be verified and each patients’ data gets a unique ID, information cannot be duplicated by accident which wastes time and manpower.

Companies and organizations can also use blockchain for keeping financial records and other bookkeeping needs.

Doctor’s Access and Security

Blockchain can help to transfer secured data between devices for health service providers.

Instead of patients having the onus of transferring paper records from physician to physician, blockchain can allow easy and instant access to medical records between medical professionals.

The US Department of Health and Human Services found that instead of using a localized server or paper documents, it’s actually safer to store patient’s information in a HIPAA compliant cloud server.

Not only does blockchain improve patients’ privacy, but the ability for professionals to easily access patients’ records actually improves diagnosis and patient care, as well.

Transparency with blockchain also comes into play here, as anyone with access to the records can see changes that were made which increases overall understanding of patients’ health.

Patient’s Access and Security

The last and certainly not least useful feature of blockchain in healthcare is the ability for patients to access their own medical records.

In fact, the way that providers would even have access to a patients’ records is because the patients would verify who has access and who doesn’t.

This gives the patients more control of their own medical records. They have the ability to access them at any time or even sell them to healthcare providers, researchers, and insurers.

Cybersecurity threats and data breaches introduce the possibility of medical identity theft, where hackers can steal a person’s medical information, or even their social security number, and sell it on the black market.

When patients use blockchain, they are given the ability to take what hackers want and safely make their own profits on their own terms.

The list above shows just a snippet of the benefits that blockchain technology has for the healthcare industry, especially as the world becomes increasingly digitized.

The healthcare industry is finding that its cybersecurity is slipping through the cracks, and HIPAA Journal reports that each month of 2018, there were about 30 healthcare data breaches reported, and that number has increased to an average of 37 per month in 2019

Blockchain technology is an all-encompassing solution to the security, research, and access problems that patients and professionals face. It allows clinical researchers and medical professionals to organize their data with transparency and accuracy.

This technology is also appealing to patients, as the ability to access and share their medical data as they please results in better diagnosis and possible monetization.

Overall, blockchain solutions are effective in the healthcare industry and their usage is growing with time. It is important for healthcare companies to get involved with this growing trend in order to operate efficiently.

How to Choose a Cloud Computing Solution for Your Startup

If you own a business in 2019, it’s likely you will have considered using a cloud platform. However, with so many options out there how do you know which one is the right fit for your company’s needs? Worry not, this is where help comes in.

Public, Private or Hybrid Cloud

You first need to determine whether you need a public, private or hybrid cloud platform. Let’s take a look at some questions to make the decision easier.

What type of data will you use?

If you work with data containing sensitive information that can’t be available to everyone, you need a private cloud. On the other hand, if the information you will store on your cloud has no particular value to anyone else, a public cloud is will work for you.

What software will you use?

The answer to this one is quite similar to the one in the first question, really. But depending on which industry your business is in, you can also use a hybrid cloud platform.

How many users and devices will connect to the cloud?

In simple terms, the more devices connecting to the cloud the less secure it will be. So, it’s better to start small and scale up.

How much are you willing to spend?

There is always the question about the budget. There are many free, but public, cloud platforms. If your information has no value to anyone outside your business, you could use a free cloud. However, if you must keep the information safe, you really need a private cloud, which will come at different costs, depending on the package you choose.

Differences between Public, Private and Hybrid Clouds

Public clouds aren’t always completely free. They do offer some features that you have to pay in order to get. Public cloud services will not be used only by your company, but others as well. They will be enough for keeping data that is not confidential, or for e-mail services. Examples of good public clouds include PaaS (platform as a service), Iaas (infrastructure as a service) and Saas (software as a service).

Private clouds, on the other hand, are never free. They, however, won’t be used by anyone else other than your company. Private clouds offer a lot higher degree of security, which means anything you choose to store on it or use it for, will be completely safe.

Hybrid clouds are literally a combination of the previous two. They are the perfect combination of the services offered by public and private clouds. Companies often have the need to store secure information on a private cloud, but they also work with information that is not confidential and can be made public.

The good news is that public cloud services are often incredibly secure, with the most up-to-date encryption processes in place. In a recent interview Andre Pienaar, cloud expert and founder of the cloud venture capital firm C5 Capital, said: “When people used to see cloud technology as a block to security, they now see it as the answer.”

Follow Your Data Needs

Every company, small or big, a start-up or a huge enterprise, needs a proper cloud service. Depending on your company needs, try and find what type of cloud service best suits it.

Three Technological Trends That Will Determine The Future Of Travel

The explosive growth of the internet and all related digital technologies has reversed almost every element of human action. This of course also applies to the way we plan, order, and experience travel. Tourists have gained access to a wealth of information and, for the most part, provided substance for their holidays and trips. Consumers orient themselves through different channels – online and offline – and are very guided by the experiences of the people around them and the findings shared by other travelers through the review site. The result of this is that travel organizations no longer lead. The revolution by the Internet has also penetrated different fields, for example is the world of online gambling. By accessing sites such as onlinecasinodeutschland.com.de, everyone can play gambling without having to leave their comfortable home.

Therefore, focusing on customers and responding to their changing orientation processes must be the main agenda of every travel organization. Driven by digital disruptions from new entrants such as Airbnb, the possibility of new technology and big data, the travel industry is at an important crossroads.

1. A growing journey with the internet

The evolution of the internet can roughly be divided into three phases, each of which has an impact on travel:

* Web information: compare and compile your own trip with a focus on price differentiation.
– Winner: Booking.com
– Tactics: competing prices

* Social web: terms such as living with locals, vacations, social trust systems and reputation management determine the orientation and order process here.
– Winner: Airbnb
– Tactics: compete in price and convenience
– Web everything: Data-based personal assistant like Siri, demo

* Virtual reality, and interactive experience (smart space, keys, keys, etc.)
– Winner: unknown
– Tactics: compete in experience and comfort

2. Technology has an impact on every phase of the journey

Travel retailers are one of the leaders in the application of technological trends and digital possibilities. Paying with a smartphone and on purpose via a smartphone is provided with information about flight times and events in the area just a few examples. The use of new technology must primarily contribute to creating a stress-free experience for travelers.

The social, mobile and internet combination changes the door experience. Technology has an impact on all phases of doordoor experience: Prepping-To-Go, On-The-Way, On-The-Ground. Three big trends driven by technology will be added in the next five years.

3) Internet of Things (IoT) driven experiences:

The combination of wearables (identification bands such as Nymi) and mobile apps will together be leading in the development of “connected payment”. Many touch points for payments are being added via the Internet of Things, for example via NFC tags. The goal is clear: higher conversion optimization by making payment accessible and faster.

Furthermore, the IoT means a streamlined experience on location. Checking in and paying with smartphone or wearable and thus also closing your room. The first examples of this can already be seen on the Hong Kong Peninsula. There, guests can use a tablet to control the light, the curtains, the temperature and the television, order a dinner, make spa reservations and plan day trips. Another example comes from Disney.

Vaping Etiquette

In a world of modernity, rules become harder to follow and people live their day to day lives with more autonomy and freedom. This independence in personal choices is a wonderful thing, but sometimes it can steer people so far away from the consideration of others that they end up just being rude. It’s a good idea to take a step back and think about how you can enjoy vaping with CCell Vape Pens without disrupting other people.

Always Ask

As long as you’re old enough to purchase products for vaping, there’s nothing stopping you from that indulgence. However, when you’re around other people, your choice to vape could mean they have to indirectly experience it too, whether they like it or not. By simply asking if your companions are comfortable with you vaping in their presence, you allow them to make a choice for themselves.

Don’t Vape Around Food

Of course, you can vape whenever you want to at home or around your own food, but in settings where you eat with people, it can affect the atmosphere of the meal and cause an unnecessary aromatic disturbance. You wouldn’t smoke at the dinner table, face to face with your friends, so why would you use your palm vape pen in that situation?

Avoid Pets and Small Children

You and your friends may know and understand that vaping is nowhere near as dangerous as smoking. However, most people would prefer that their children and pets don’t inhale any kind of smoke or vapor. If it’s not your child or pet, you need to respect that stance or air on the side of caution if you’re unsure how they feel about it.

Vape Kindly

Vaping etiquette can be summed up in one simple rule. If smoking is not appreciated in a certain setting, vaping will not be received much differently. Take a moment to consider your surroundings and give yourself time to step outside with your favorite vape pen if you think it may disturb your neighbor.

3 Technologies that will Change Schools in the Future

There are lots of cues in technological trends that lend credence to the future of education. From high-speed internet connectivity, digitized classrooms to newfound ways of doing research, students of the future will experience learning in never-seen before ways. For example, technologies will combine to create powerful education systems, in which case, going to school would become null and void.

You may have wondered why learning institutions now emphasize STEM subjects more than humanities, but, that’s a topic for another day.

Now, given that the future of learning would be incomplete without technology, it is time students started embracing subjects such as Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. It is because today’s civilization is more interested in invention and innovation than anything else. You will realize, for example, that most custom paper help services now emphasize help in Maths, science, engineering and technology. Thus, it is a feature you might want to consider next time you to pay for Cheap Essay Writing service.

In this post, learn about three most-forefront technologies that will change schools in future.

Augmented Reality (AR)

Augmented Reality is without a doubt, a vital technological necessity in academia. You cannot rule it out from being part of education in the future. While AR is now more applicable in gaming industry, it continues to make an impact in learning as well.

The same way payers feel part of actions in esports battle games, student too are already have a lot to write home about. Moreover, with several instances of AR implementation in schools around the world, future of academia landscape can only get better.

In many ways, Augmented Reality already has a huge impact on learning. For example, teachers are now able to engage students at higher and deeper levels. It combines edutainment and learning to bring about a new approach in schooling known as gamification. With Oculus and Google Cardboard at the center of these developments, students will be able to examine virus-causing diseases in a virtual environment using disruptive eyewear.

3D printing

Technology is the focal point of human civilization, especially now and in the future. With 3D printing, another disruptive technology changing academia, instructional learning is getting a facelift. For example, being able to touch space bodies, internal human organs and single-celled organisms in 3D printouts is very reassuring, technically, the future of printing.

Cloud Computing

In every way you look at it, cloud computing is an advanced approached to digitizing classrooms. From learning in virtual settings, retrieving learning materials online with speed to interacting with teachers from anywhere, the rate at which Internet of Things (IoT) continues to change schools is baffling.

Smart gadgets will take this interactivity to higher levels. In a nutshell, cloud computing is not only positively disruptive in academic sense but also the future of learning.

The Bottom Line

Without technology, the future of learning would be bleak and fuzzy. From digital classrooms, websites where I can find help with my assignments, learning gadgets to artificial intelligence (AI), edtech is the future of interactivity learning sessions between teachers and students.

Simple Tips to Snap Great Photos Using Smartphone Cameras

Smartphone cameras have come a long way in a short time and they are really very capable nowadays. However many people still find they end up with mixed results when snapping photos using a smartphone.

As tempting as it may be to blame the smartphone camera, in most cases it isn’t its fault. Instead it is a question of your approach and technique, and the good news is there are several simple tips you can use to improve that:

  • Keep the camera still while you’re snapping photos to avoid motion or focus blur. It may help to use a tripod stand or prop up your smartphone against a stable surface, or at very least learn how to hold your smartphone better.
  • Try the HDR mode that will combine multiple exposures to create a better image. It can be especially helpful if you’re snapping photos with extremely bright and dark areas in the same frame. Just make sure you stay still for a second or two after you snap the photo so your camera has time to capture multiple exposures.
  • Make sure there is plenty of soft light from diffused sources. Natural light is good, but you should avoid direct sunlight that can cause stark shadows. If you’re shooting indoors you should use a softbox or even DIY softbox lighting of your own.
  • Avoid using the flash unless there’s no way around it. The flash on most smartphones leaves a lot to be desired and will often harm more than it helps.
  • Turn on the grid and use the rule of thirds to compose more balanced shots that are visually interesting. The gridlines and intersection points will provide you with a helpful guide to position elements in the frame.
  • Get close to the subject to reveal more detail. As far as possible you should avoid using the digital zoom on your smartphone, as it will affect the overall quality of your photo.
  • Adjust the exposure on your smartphone depending on how bright or dark the scene is. The exact method to do this can vary, but most smartphone camera apps provide some sort of control over it. If you want you can then start to learn more about the other manual settings in your app and what they do too.
  • Clean the lens regularly and check it before you snap photos. All too often people forget to clean their lens, and dust eventually accumulates on it.

In addition to these tips, you should try to find a good photo editor for PC that will allow you to touch up and improve the photos that you capture. For example you could use Movavi Photo Editor to do that.

All said and done you will find that you’re able to consistently snap far better photos if you apply the tips as described. With a bit of practice you’ll be able to capture some truly great photos that look amazing – all with your current smartphone camera.

California Law On Child Safety Seat

If we are driving alone with a child it can be a challenging thing because little children can be unpredictable. A lone driver can be easily distracted by what a child does while driving. If the child understands, then it is easier to talk to the child about what he or she should or should not do before you start driving.

If you are driving with a child in the car in California, there are laws regarding child’s safety. For children under the age of 2, the child is required to be seated in the rear seat of the car in a proper car seat or booster seat. The child must remain in the rear facing car seat until he or she is at least 40 inches tall or weighing about 40 pounds or more. It is claimed that children under the age of 2 are safer in the rear facing car seat than a forward facing car seat.

The penalties for not complying with car seat laws depend on the state. For such offences, the fines usually ranges from $10 to $500 or even more. Not only are offenders fined, their driving license point system could be affected. If a driver is caught for a car seat violation during a car accident, I would suggest that you consult a ticket lawyer as soon as possible.

Violating car seat ruling is a serious offence and the court will not excuse the breaking of law by the driver. Neither will the court excuse the parent for not affording a car seat because the safety of the child and everyone in the car is at stake. If I am caught with such violation, I will need to consult a traffic ticket lawyer. The traffic ticket attorney near me will be able to advise me on my next course of action, and will help build my case in the event of a lawsuit.

Some people may think that it is easier to just pay up the ticket but you may be surprised to find out later that it could harm your driving record or even cost you more money in the long run. You can hire the orange county ticket attorney to appear in court to get the fine reduced or appeal to attend a traffic school course regarding the use of child safety seat or child restraints.

Tech Tips For Recording High Quality Videos Using an iPhone or iPod

If you find recording videos on your iPhone or iPod enjoyable but would love to up the production level of the videos which you produce, simply continue reading to discover a few tips and tricks which you may not have considered. As contrary to popular belief you don’t have to purchase an expensive camera in order to produce amazing videos.

Tech tips for recording high-quality videos using an iPhone or iPod:

1. Consider using an iPod stabilizer or an iPhone stabilizer

What does an iPod stabilizer or an iPhone stabilizer do? iPod and iPhone stabilizers are small handheld devices, which you hold in one hand in order to stabilize your electronic device. So that you’ll be able to take steady videos, instead of shaky videos which remind you of “The Blair Witch Project” or which give you a headache.

One reason why stabilizers are becoming increasingly more commonplace is that while it may be relatively simple to take stable footage when you’re standing in one place or have your electronic device on a stable tripod, it’s nearly impossible to take stable video footage when you’re walking or driving and are on the move.

So if you enjoy creating vlog style videos of your daily life, it’s well worth purchasing a small, lightweight stabilizer which you’ll be able to use to keep your video footage steady.

2. Consider using Pocket Studio iPhone to create high-quality videos

Another way to ensure that you create high-quality iPhone or iPod videos is to use Pocket Studio iPhone to give your videos a professional polish. As an example, you’ll be able to use it to place sound clips into your video or to make your video’s audio crisper and clearer.

If you have a favorite song, that you’d like to use in one of your homemade videos, you’ll also be able to place your favorite song in one of your upcoming videos. Which will be sure to impress your friends and family members.

3. Opt to shoot your videos in high definition

If you have a recently released iPhone, you’ll be able to shoot your videos in high definition. Which is fantastic as it means that even if you play your videos on your smart TV or laptop your videos will still look top notch, instead of blurry and grainy.

So if one of your current goals is to successfully use your iPhone or iPod to shoot quality videos, it’s well worth taking the 3 tips listed above to heart.
