Expert Tips for Making Travel Easier in 2021

Do you love to explore new places? If so, you’re certainly not alone.

After all, traveling to new and exciting places is one of the best parts of life. The chance to discover and explore exotic destinations is the perfect opportunity for adventure. And the best way to get the most out of each adventure is to understand the best tips for travel planning.

Fortunately, you’ve come to the right place for help. This article takes a look at great tips for making travel easier. So if you’re in the middle of planning an upcoming summer vacation, keep reading to get the inside scoop.

Always Bring Extra Socks

Regardless of how much walking you’re planning to do, it’s always wise to pack extra socks. That’s because it’s easy to lose a sock during your trip. Thus you need to have a backup pair to prevent an emergency.

Plus, you might sweat through the ones you’re wearing and want to put on a fresh pair in the middle of the day.

Pack More Than One Pair of Sneakers

It’s also easy to lose a pair of sneakers. Or you might find yourself in the rain, and the last thing you want to do is have to spend the rest of the day walking around in wet shoes.

Let the Bank Know You’re Leaving Town

Your bank can’t read your mind. Thus they won’t know you’re leaving town unless you tell them. When out-of-state transactions start showing up on your credit or debit cards, your account might get flagged. Letting them know ahead of time where you’re planning to travel will help prevent any spending problems while you’re out having fun.

Here’s a useful tip to help you find parking before a flight.

Only Take What You Need On Day Trips

When you go out for the day, resist the impulse to take more stuff than you need. Leave as much in the room as possible.

Take a look at your itinerary for the day and plan accordingly. For example, your needs for a day visiting museums will be different than taking a long nature hike or taking a day trip in a rental car. Keep in mind that the less you have to keep track of during the day, the better.

Get Behind Business Travelers Going Through Security

Going through security at the airport can be a major headache. And yet business travelers do this many times a day and have the process figured out to get through as quickly as possible. Thus you should follow business travelers through, reducing the amount of time you have to stand in line.

Watch what they do and do likewise. This will simplify the process and get you where you’re going much faster.

A Vacation Guide to Making Travel Easier

As the weather warms up, more and more people will be making vacation plans. Fortunately, this guide to making travel easier will help to make your summer getaway a little less stressful and a lot more fun.

Keep exploring this blog to discover more great lifestyle tips and advice.

You’re Stuck on the Side of the Road – What Next?

You probably drive thousands of miles each year. With all this driving, a mishap could potentially leave you stranded. Depending on your situation, anything from a jump starter or a car jack can be a life savior. Know what to do when you end up stopped to stay safe and get back on the road quickly.

Where To Safely Park on the Side of the Road

When you have to park in a hurry due to car trouble, make sure to pull as far off the road as possible. That ensures you are safely away from traffic. When applicable, exit your car from the passager side to avoid traffic. During the night, parking in a well-lit area is helpful to maintain awareness of your surroundings and for working on your car. Knowing how to jump start a car means you won’t get stranded if your battery dies while you’re parked.

How To Safely Change Your Tire

If you need a tire replacement, avoid parking on unstable surfaces such as hills, dirt, and grass. Also, be sure to turn on your hazard lights to caution oncoming traffic before you begin changing the tire:

  1. Use tire chokes on your wheels to prevent the car from accidentally rolling. Then loosen the lug nuts with a lug wrench, but do not remove them yet.
  2. Place the car jack according to the manual, then lift the tire about 6 inches off the ground. Remember never to place yourself under the car.
  3. Remove all loosened lug nuts. Then remove the defective tire from the lug studs.
  4. Slide your spare tire onto the lug studs. With your hand, twist the lug nuts back onto the studs.
  5. Lower the car down slowly with the jack. Then use your lug wrench to tighten the lug nuts back onto the studs completely.

How To Safely Jump Start a Car

You can use either a jump starter or cables to jump your car battery. To use the former, connect the colored wires to the corresponding battery terminal, press the power button, then start your engine.

To use jumper cables, be sure the stalled car and the jumper car are close enough for the cables to reach both car batteries, then follow these steps:

  1. Connect the first end of the red cable to the red terminal of the stalled battery.
  2. Then connect the second end of the red cable to the red terminal of the jumper car.
  3. Next, connect the first end of the black cable to the jumper car battery.
  4. For the last connecter of the black cable, connect it to an unpainted metal surface under the hood of the stalled car. (Do not connect the last black cable to the black terminal of the stalled battery. Doing so could cause dangerous sparks, though these instances are rare.)
  5. When the cables are connected, start the engine of the jumper car and wait for approximately two or three minutes. Then attempt to start the stalled car.

Prepare for Your Next Trip

Before hitting the road on your next big adventure, be sure to have the tools to protect yourself from mishaps. Stop by your local auto repair shop or shop online. Stocking up with things like a jumper starter and an air pump can make a big difference.

6 Unique Places to Visit in Washington State

Because it’s home to both Bigfoot and the highest rate of UFO sightings in the nation, it’s no wonder Washington State is a hotbed of strange and unique travel destinations. Millions of tourists visit Washington State each year, all of them clamoring for the area’s natural beauty and diverse geography. However, some of them are looking for something more.

Whether you want to get your bearings with a leisurely hike, defy gravity, or sift through museum-like curios and curiosities, this destination delivers. Once you’re done with the top tourist attractions in Washington State, head off the beaten path to check out these six unique oddities!

1. Point Roberts

If you’re looking for an unusual gem, Point Roberts is the place to go. This town is on the southern end of Canada’s Tsawwassen peninsula, but it’s still considered part of Washington State. In other words, you’ll have to cross into Canada to get there!

2. Twin Sisters

If you’re a fan of hiking, take a trip out to Twin Sisters Rock. Popular among Washington State tourism opportunities, this one-mile round trip makes for an easy walk, but the destination itself is both beautiful and fascinating. Though erosion is what created these pillars, there are plenty of local legends that claim otherwise.

3. Beacon Rock

When you’re ready for more of a hiking challenge, Beacon Rock is the best and most unique choice. This natural monolith is located along the Columbia River Gorge, and it features a stunning panoramic view at the top. With plenty of guardrails, bridges, and switchbacks, it’s a safe hike for even beginner hikers.

4. Ye Olde Curiosity Shop

Open since 1899, this unusual shop is located on Pier 54 in Seattle. If you’re looking for souvenirs, you’re in the right place: there are plenty of shot glasses, magnets, t-shirts, and more.

However, what makes this iconic store stand out are the curiosities and curios placed around the store. From shrunken heads and mummies to fortune teller machines and four-legged hens, this shop has it all.

If you’re coming from your earlier hiking trips, make sure to find a good place to keep your RV. For reliable storage in Kitsap County, check out this article.

5. Seattle Metaphysical Library

While you’re in Seattle, you may want to see the full spectrum of tourist destinations in Washington State and get your fill of the city’s oddities. One of them is the Seattle Metaphysical Library, formerly the As You Like It Library. This independent bookseller exists in an unmarked basement in northwest Seattle, and its extensive book list includes everything from alchemy to UFOs.

6. Gravity Hill

If you want something to brag about once you’re done with your tour of Washington State, defying gravity is a safe bet! Head out to Prosser to find this strange phenomenon.

Gravity Hill allows drivers to put their car in neutral in order to roll uphill. While some say the feat is an optical illusion, testing the elevation has proven that the road does in fact incline!

Plan Your Visit to Washington State

When you visit Washington State, you get to enjoy the area’s pristine beauty, extensive history, and the curiosities scattered around the state. With this list of unusual tourist attractions, Washington State is the clear winner for any vacationer hoping to get off the beaten path. Start planning your visit today!

What You Should Know Before Moving to Florida

Many people love to vacation in Florida every year. In 2019 alone, over 116 million people visited the Sunshine State. With its sandy beaches and warm weather, it is a great place to have fun and relax.

If you have been thinking about moving to Florida, you have come to the right place. Keep on reading for our ultimate guide on what you should know before you make that move.

Moving to Florida

If you get tired of the hustle and bustle of where you live now and long for warm weather and beautiful scenery, you may want to move to Florida. Before you decide to pack up your things and head out, you may be thinking, ” what should I know before I move to Florida?”

The housing situation is a good thing to know. If you want to build your own home, this company, which has great customer testimonials, has different models to choose from and can build on your lot. Knowing what the real estate market is like, and what you can afford will help determine if you still want to move.

If you have not retired and will need to work, you will want to know what jobs are available. Finding a job before you move is a good idea so you can get a good grasp on your income level.

Look into the economy and cost of living. Is it something you can afford? That is important to know because it affects your everyday life.

Scope out some social media groups for moving to Florida tips. Many of these groups will give you advice about what to expect and how to navigate the move. They can be helpful when checking out a new state.

Things to Consider

If you have wondered, “should I move to Florida?” there are some things to think over. While moving to this beautiful state could never seem like a wrong decision, you still have to think about it.

Do you have a doctor where you live now? If so, you will likely want to get a new one so that you don’t have to travel when you need medical attention.

Do certain climates agree with you more than others? For someone with aches and pains, a warmer temperature is usually better. Someone with asthma may do better in a cooler climate.

Do you have the money to move? Even if you have a job lined up and a house to move into, it still costs money to move. You may need to pay for a moving company, gas for your car, and food to eat along the way.

Know how to get around in the city. That may seem simple if you have a navigation app, but rush hour traffic can be brutal depending on where you go. It is a good idea to know some alternate routes in advance.

Taking the Plunge

If you have decided that moving to Florida is what you need, you are right! With it having the most beautiful beaches you can find anywhere, you can vacation where you live!

It is known as the Sunshine State because of its abundant sunshine and warm temperatures. That may be why so many people flock to it each year. Be sure to check out the rest of our site for more great tips like these.

4 of the Most Popular Shopping Holidays Around the World

When you think of a shopping holiday, you probably consider big events like Valentine’s Day and Christmas. You likely also consider your birthday, a personal special day or two, and maybe even Easter Sunday. Outside of the common shopping events, there are a few global shopping holidays that you might have never heard of.

Whether you’re trying to get a birthday gift to tell a friend “Happy birthday,” or you’re looking to buy an engagement ring or some custom jewelry, there are a few days that you should consider. From well-known events such as Black Friday or Cyber Monday to more niche events such as Record Store Day, here are a few of the best shopping holidays that you should keep in mind.

Super Saturday

img

Christmas is right around the corner. As such, you may want to consider getting your shopping out of the way before this special day. However, some people tend to wait until the last minute no matter what. This is where days like Super Saturday come into play. If you’ve never heard of Super Saturday, it’s often a big day for retail purchases on a budget. On the Saturday before Christmas, this special day is when plenty of shops, boutiques, and retailers put merchandise up for clearance. It’s the best way to score some last-minute deals and find accessories, presents, and discounts without spending a lot of time in any one store. Plus, if you’re concerned about in-person shopping due to COVID-19, you can take advantage of many Super Saturday deals from the comfort of your own home. Make yourself some brunch, browse some promotions, and look for some free shipping deals. It’s a great way to save.

While Super Saturday is arguably the biggest of these days, the handful of days surrounding Christmas are often rife with good deals as well. While you may not be able to snag a custom design bracelet or necklace on one of these days, you’ll likely have luck finding wide width flats, antiques, and children’s clothing. Some brands will even give you added discounts in exchange for your email address. For online shopping, look at the social media pages of your favorite brands and retailers. You can get the highest-quality goods without risking your mental health trying to deal with massive pre-Christmas crowds and long customer service lines. If you want affordable prices, Super Saturday is the day of the year you should keep your eye on.

Record Store Day

img

Have you ever wondered what to do on your birthday if you’re alone? Because of COVID-19, it may still be a possibility for the next year. If you’re spending a birthday alone or you’re simply a major music lover, you’ll love the promotions offered on Record Store Day. Treat yourself on your birthday by taking advantage of some of these top deals. Then, for a birthday party, you can plan a Zoom call and play some new music over your laptop for your friends and family. Just make sure to send out the invites ahead of time.

Simply put, Record Store Day is an excellent time to score deals on, well, records. Many record stores issue re-releases, bring back out-of-print albums, and offer steep discounts and store credit for trade-ins and purchases. While you may need a reservation for some stores, you’ll have a great time thumbing through rows and rows of quality vinyl. It can make for a great birthday party, and it should be the first stop for any music aficionado. Plus, many record stores are independently owned or are family businesses. The owners often have years of experience and can offer up quality recommendations whenever needed. If it’s a long walk or a bit of a hike to the nearest store, you can sign up for text message notifications to pick out some of the best possible deals.

Boxing Day

imgIf you’re willing to wait a bit to score some top-tier Christmas deals, you could take a bit of an unconventional approach. That’s right: Instead of doing your shopping before Christmas, you can do it the day after. Boxing Day, celebrated on December 26th, is a great time to score some last-minute deals on discounted goods. In particular, it’s often easier to find discounts on jewelry. If you’re in the market for a new piece of jewelry, some durable precious stones, or another accessory, you might want to consider Boxing Day.

Many retailers avoid offerings discounts on pendants, diamond rings, and other jewelry right before Christmas. This is because Christmas is a popular jewelry holiday for plenty of couples. After Christmas, jewelry often drops in price. It’s the perfect time to find some fine jewelry or get an appraisal without breaking the bank. If you don’t want to pay a premium price for a diamond ring, you can consider Boxing Day.

If you’re looking for a good jeweler, you can turn to Google. Search based on where you live. For instance, if you’re in Arlington, Fairfax, Herndon, or Leesburg, you should adjust your search terms accordingly. A search like “jewelry store Northern Virginia” can help you find the right jeweler in your area. Whether you need an earring or a wedding band, a jeweler can help you pick out the perfect items at a price you’ll absolutely adore.

Chinese New Year

img

Think of your average Thanksgiving celebration. Chances are it’s full of food, merriment, and fun. Many families cook large feasts and take a day to indulge and enjoy. Now multiply the size of your Thanksgiving, and you have a rough estimate of what the Chinese New Year looks like. During the holiday, people will shop for clothing, lanterns, food, and other gifts for both themselves and their relatives. It’s a massive celebration, and it’s always treated as such. Since shopping and eating out are so popular, many retailers and restaurants have to work to accommodate the excess traffic and spending. Whether you’re going for a birthday brunch or you’re buying new sneakers or flats for your relatives, it’s a great time to score some deals on popular brands and merchandise.

Aside from shoes like sneakers and hair bows, other popular merchandise includes accessories and grooming products. In most cases, you’ll be able to find just about anything you need at a price that won’t make you wince. It’s also a great way to get together with family and friends (in moderation), cook a delectable meal using family recipes, and spend time exchanging gifts. Chinese New Year is a beautiful celebration of heritage and culture, and it’s also an ideal time to do some additional shopping.

Of course, there are dozens, if not hundreds, more shopping holidays around the world. Each celebrates something exciting and unique. While you may be used to the big ones like Cyber Monday and Valentine’s, each culture has its own way of celebrating special days and promoting additional sales. Whether you’re simply a frugal shopper or you need a bit of retail therapy, it pays to keep an eye out for some of the top shopping holidays. It can help you save a good chunk of money and make it easier to find the perfect gifts, goods, and merchandise for everyone special in your life.

8 Signs You’re Ready to Move Abroad

Life is full of ups and downs and twists and turns that it can be difficult to keep up. Sometimes, you may even find it hard to know what you’re supposed to do and where you’re meant to be.

If you have that nagging feeling that your life is incomplete or doesn’t seem to be going the way you expect, it may be high time for a change. This change can be anything from a simple haircut to something more significant, like relocating abroad.

Deciding on the latter is much more challenging, of course. After all, moving to a foreign place is an adventure that not everyone is ready to have.

Here are eight telltale signs that you’re ready to move overseas to help you make an informed choice:

You seek new adventures

If your daily grind has been bothering you for quite some time, you may need to hit pause, step back, and ponder about how you feel about your current lifestyle.

You see, if the life you’ve been living feels mundane and forced – like you’re just going through the motions without remembering or feeling anything as you go along, you might be in need of a new adventure.

If this is the case, then life abroad may be the perfect change of pace. Whether it’s a slower, more laid-back lifestyle or something out of your comfort zone, you should consider migrating to another country.

Of the two, the former is more appealing to most people who have lived busy lives. If you’re like them, consider applying for second citizenship in the Caribbean. With many countries there allowing dual citizenship, you’ll have more options than just staying in your homeland.

You always hesitate to go home after a trip abroad

Have you ever felt hesitant to go back home after a life-changing trip?

You’re already at the airport – documents verified, and luggage loaded – and suddenly, you feel an overwhelming wave of sadness as you board the plane. Then, a thought crosses your mind: “What if I skip this flight?”

If this ever happened in at least one of your trips, you should ask yourself: “What do I dread coming back to?”

Individuals take an average of one to two weeks of vacation every year. If these seven to fourteen days seem to be more valuable and fulfilling to you than the rest of the 365 days of the year, you might be ready to move on to a new place.

You don’t feel committed to where you are now

Whether it’s to a material possession (e.g., a car or a house) or a person (e.g., a significant other), any reservations you have about commitment can all be signs that it’s time for you to relocate. This is also true for employment.

Everyone can feel stressed about work. No matter how much you love it – even if it’s your dream job – you can still get tired.

However, there is a sense of satisfaction that gets you going through these tough times if it means achieving the goal you’ve set for yourself.

The issue is when you feel uninspired on your day-to-day tasks that you count down the hours and minutes until it’s time to head home. If you don’t feel stressed over not being able to achieve your short-term goals, it means you’re not truly committed to the career path you’re treading.

If this is the case, it’s about time for a change. Why waste time doing something that doesn’t excite you? Move on. You deserve a career – and a life – that keeps you fulfilled and energized.

You like change

If you don’t want to step out of their comfort zone, you couldn’t enjoy moving to a new country. But if you’re a fan of new things and are thrilled by change, then relocating abroad may be the best move for you.

Relocating abroad means adjusting to a lot of new things – the language, culture, people, and even food. It also entails leaving everything you know behind and embracing a new learning experience every single day. If this sounds appealing to you, go ahead and plan your move.

You need to start anew

If you’re looking for a fresh start, moving on to another country may just be the perfect opportunity. Whether it’s to leave a past love behind or to get over a major slump in your career, whatever the reason may be, living in a new place offers a chance for you to start fresh.

You crave diversity in your life

Doing the same thing and meeting the same types of people over and over can get old. Be it due to boredom or something a bit more profound; the need for diversity in life is normal.

In school, many people lived a sheltered life. You don’t get to see anything new or meet people with different languages, cultures, and general beliefs. But once you graduate and look for a job, you’ll be exposed to more types of people of different ethnicities or religions.

Curious about different cultures and can’t get enough of the tastes, sounds, and sights you’ve experienced while in their company? Moving overseas could help satiate your curiosity.

When you experience a new culture first hand, you get to see the world from a different angle. You are introduced to a whole new perspective and gain a different way of thinking that could lead to your personal growth.

You wish to be more independent

Independence goes beyond not living with your parents – it is gripping the wheels of your life with both hands and steering it to the direction you have decided for yourself.

When you move overseas, you not only get to achieve independence – you also gain a new sense of prosperity from earning for yourself and building your wealth separate from what your parents are giving you.

You have no regrets

If wanting change, diversity, and a new sense of adventure isn’t enough to push you to apply for Grenada citizenship and relocate, then having no regrets would probably close the deal.

You see, living a life without any regrets means you’ve already made up your mind. And once you do, you will surely put all your heart into it, and nothing can ever hold you back from moving abroad.

Get Ready to Take the Leap

Readiness for a change is a vital requisite for moving abroad. After all, relocation is something that should be considered thoroughly. Look for the signs listed in this article when deciding to move overseas and get ready to take the big leap.

Travel Marketing 101: 4 Tips and Trends to Stay on Top of Your Game

Back in the day, travelers relied on travel agents to help book their flights, hotel accommodations, and even plan their itineraries for their dream vacations. Now, travelers have realized they can use the internet to do it all on their own.

With this knowledge, airlines, resorts, hotels, theme parks, and anything else in the tourism industry realized that they needed to focus on their traveling marketing to attract new clients.

If you’re looking to improve your travel marketing game, then we have the tips for you.

Be sure to keep reading for our guide on four tips and trends to help you stay on top of the travel marketing game.

1. Use Customer Experiences

A great way to attract new customers is to show what previous customers have to say about their experiences. Getting customer testimonials for your website can help attract new customers.

Doing this is an awesome way to go about marketing travel packages. You can show how customers feel about the trips that they went on and the experiences that they had.

Customers love to read reviews. Seeing real people going on a trip that they could potentially go on is an excellent way to market.

2. Reach Your Target Audience

When you’re in the travel market, you might think that you’re trying to reach everyone. Yet, that is not the case.

Each business is going to have a target audience that they’re trying to reach and sell their services to. Do you know who your target audience is?

If you’re struggling to find and connect with your target audience, then it might be time to reach out to the professionals. A digital marketing agency can help you build relationships with the right audience, which will lead to more sales.

Check out Bearfoxmarketing.com below to see what they can do for you.

3. Create Content

Content marketing is an astonishing way for you to attract new customers to your website. This kind of marketing refers to anything that you create and distribute on the internet.

You can make blog posts, video content, social media posts, podcasts, or anything else about your travel niche. Content marketing also doesn’t need to be an advertisement for your products or services.

You should make interesting and relevant content to help attract potential clients. For example, you can go behind the scenes of travel marketing jobs and show a day-in-the-life. Doing this is an engaging way to market and help draw in new customers.

4. Put Yourself in Your Client’s Shoes

As someone in the travel industry, you need to put yourself in your client’s shoes often. Being away from home can be difficult for people, even if it is for a fun vacation.

Be someone who can anticipate the needs of your travelers. When you’re marketing, think to yourself, “what would your target audience want?”

Knowing exactly what your clients want before they come to your page is the best way to get more clients.

Improve Your Travel Marketing Game

If you’re in the tourism industry, then you already know how competitive it can be. Be sure to use these travel marketing tips to help improve your strategy and win over some new clients.

10 Travel Essentials When You’re Trying to Kick Bad Habits

Traveling can be one of life’s great joys, but traveling when trying to kick bad habits can be harrowing. The stress of dealing with luggage delays or getting lost on the road is usually outweighed by the fact that you are getting a change of scenery and doing something fun.

However, coupled with the challenge of trying to quit your tobacco use, minor inconveniences turn into unbearable catastrophes. “20 questions” goes from being a fun family road trip game to being a form of inhumane torture; and if you have to listen to Baby Shark on the radio one more time, you may just get out and walk the rest of the thousand miles to Disney World.

No matter what habit you’re trying to eliminate from your life, making sure you pack a few essentials can mean the difference between having a vacation where everyone gets on your nerves, and having the time of your life. Keep reading to learn what you need to have on hand to help you change your habits while creating happy memories.

1. Natural Supplements

Most people don’t think about nutrition when they are on vacation; but getting the vitamins you need will help you stay calm and maintain energy levels throughout the day. Having some green tea on hand will help you relax, and CBD can serve several purposes.

CBD gummies are discreet and you don’t have to worry about the liquid limitations on the plane. You can have them in your carry on and snack on them to help manage flight anxiety. If you’re going to be doing a lot of movement on your trip, CBD can help reduce stiffness and soreness, and the best CBD gummies for pain also help you get a good night’s sleep even if that hotel bed is not as comfy as advertised.

Evn CBD is one of several companies that offer top-quality CBD products at reasonable prices. You just may want to make sure you get in the routine of taking them before you travel, so you know how they make you feel ahead of time.

2. Healthy Snacks

Making sure you have healthy snacks on hand will help you occupy your hands and mouth without packing on the pounds. Nuts are full of protein to give you long lasting energy, but they are high in calories and fats—so you don’t want to overdo it.

Veggies and hummus are great to keep in your cooler on road trips, and popcorn provides a satisfying crunch without loading you down and making you tired. Just make sure to bring enough to share if you are traveling with family.

3. Gum

Many people who have committed to quitting smoking or chewing tobacco, start chewing gum as a replacement. If this describes you, pack plenty of gum for your whole trip, and keep it handy for when the stress starts to close in.

4. Water

Staying hydrated will give you the energy you need to deal with the additional stress of withdrawal from the habit you are trying to kick. It’s refreshing and cooling; and studies show that drinking very cold water through a straw can replace the oral sensation of a cigarette, and it gives you a shot of dopamine as well.

5. A Deck of Cards

A deck of cards will not only give you something to do with your hands, but it will also help you and your travel companions keep from being bored during long flight delays and layovers. Learn a new game or a few card tricks, and you will be the life of the party while you wait for the wings of your next flight to be de-iced.

6. Headphones

Headphones block out the noise that may be driving you crazy when you’re experiencing the anxiety of a craving. Playing some soothing music can help you get to sleep, or you could listen to a guided meditation to relax on a long flight or car ride.

7. A Book

Take a book you’re excited about reading to give yourself something to do with your hands and take your mind off of withdrawal symptoms for a while.

8. Something Indulgent

You’re on vacation, so you should not deprive yourself of treats. Just make sure to keep your consumption at a reasonable level. Dark chocolate can help curb hunger, and who doesn’t love chocolate?

9. A Full Itinerary

When you’re busy (especially in places where smoking is prohibited), you spend less time thinking about whatever habit it is that you’re trying to kick, and more time thinking about the task at hand. Make sure your days have lots of fun activities so that you don’t even want to stop long enough to pay attention to any cravings you have.

10. A Sense of Humor

Let’s face it. Traveling can be stressful, and so can kicking bad habits. But making sure you’re able to let it go and laugh is the best way to guarantee you have a great time on your trip no matter what. So toss your head back and let out a hearty belly laugh to start your journey off right.

How to Have the Ultimate Camping Road Trip

Sometimes you just need to get away. If you’re like most people, you’ve been practicing social distancing safety measures, wearing a mask everywhere you go and keeping six feet apart from everyone. You may even have been working from home for months on end.

While these protocols are in place to keep us safe, it can start to feel overwhelming. Why not plan a camping road trip with your family or friends to take a break from it all? Get out and see the countryside and experience an adventure.

However, for the best experience, you should probably take a little time to plan a camping road trip, rather than just setting sail and seeing where the wind takes you. We can help. Keep reading for everything you need to know.

1. Buy or Rent a Camper or RV

First, if you want to take an extended trip without sacrificing comfort and convenience, we highly recommend getting a camper or RV. If you don’t have one already and don’t want to buy one, most RV dealerships have rental options.

When you travel with a camper or RV, you can take your time, find beautiful locations to boondock (camp off-grid), and haul everything you and your family need.

2. Make a Bucket List of Destinations

Next, camping road trip planning means figuring out where you’re going to go before heading out. This is important, especially if you’re planning a trip with a limited timeframe or on a budget. Sit down with your family and make a list of top destination spots.

Then, you can plan the most efficient and practical route. From here, you can get a rough estimate of mileage, fuel consumption, and time on the road.

3. Scope Out RV Campsites

Once you know where you’re going, you can do a little research to find camper and RV sites along the way. This is vital for things like refueling, filling propane tanks, filling up water tanks, emptying gray and black tanks, and restocking on supplies. Check out Leisureland RV for some top-level camping sites your family won’t want to miss.

4. Make a Camping Gear Checklist

Before you leave, we also recommend creating a road trip planner. In your planner, you should write down your destinations, your camping routes, potential lodging or overnight sites, and more, as noted above. However, your planner should also include a camping gear and supply checklist.

Write down everything you’re going to want or need on the trip so nothing slips through the cracks. Nothing spoils a good trip like leaving behind essential items.

5. Go At the Right Time With the Right People

Finally, a camping road trip is best enjoyed with the right company. Most people travel with their families, which provides a great opportunity to reconnect, away from technology and the obligations of everyday life.

However, you may also choose to travel with friends. In this case, you can all travel in one RV/camper or travel in a convoy. It depends on how close you want to be, how many people are coming, and your preferences.

Lastly, make sure you go at the right time. You may want to plan your camping trip around nice weather. Alternatively, you may want to avoid nice weather, as it brings the most tourists.

Moving to Canada: A Basic Immigration Guide for U.S. Citizens

Did you know that over half a million American citizens are living in Canada? You could be one of them!

There are many reasons for which Americans find themselves looking into a move up north. Some move for political reasons, others for a change of scenery; some move for work, and others move for love. Regardless of the reason, there are a few things to know moving to Canada from the USA.

If you are considering moving to Canada, we’ve got you covered. Keep reading to learn all about how to do so as quickly and efficiently as possible.

How Long Will You Stay?

The first thing to think about is how long you intend to stay in Canada. The length of your stay will affect the type of visa you will require.

Visitor Visa

If you want to test the waters for a few months before committing to a life in Canada, consider a visitor visa. With this visa, you can stay in Canada for up to six months.

Work or Study Visa

If your goal is to stay longer than six months, you will need to apply for a study or work visa. To do this, you will need to be registered as a student or have a job offer in Canada. The length of validity for these visas depends on the length of your study program or job offer.

Express Entry

If you would like to move to Canada permanently, consider the Express Entry option. This involves taking an online test to demonstrate your skills and English or French proficiency. This is a quick way to get through the immigration process.

Saving Up Before Moving to Canada

Moving to a new location adds up, especially when visa costs are involved. Therefore, it’s important to start saving up and budgeting with ample time before you move.

Visa Costs

Immigration to Canada from the USA can be expensive, so you’ll want to start saving ahead of the move. Depending on the type of visa you choose, the application will cost between about 100 and 1,100 dollars. You will also be asked for proof of funds to demonstrate that you will be self-sufficient from the minute you arrive in Canada.

Moving Costs

Don’t forget to factor in the moving costs as well. If you will be taking furniture with you, you’ll want to get quotes from a few different movers so you can choose accordingly.

Buying New Essentials

If you are planning on selling your belongings before the move, factor in a budget for buying new essentials once you arrive in Canada. If this is your plan, you’re probably thinking, how do I sell my house fast so I can jump-start that savings account? The first thing to do is find a realtor and get your home in tip-top selling condition.

O Canada, Here We Come

Now that you are up to date on the basics of moving to Canada, it’s time to start making a plan. Consider how long you want to stay in the country so you can look into the appropriate visa. Decide on what you want to do with your house and possessions so you can start lightening the load and saving up.

With this in mind, you’ll be living in Canada in no time! For more on travel and moving, be sure to visit our blog.
